Event Date: 15th October 2022

In this webinar, we explore a framework for initial teacher education that capitalizes on aspiring teachers’ experience as learners and which positions the teacher of teachers as a mediator of professional learning.

Firmly grounded on a Sociocultural perspective, the ENABLE framework (Díaz Maggioli, 2022) presents a deceptively simple framework that helps aspiring teachers co-construct their professional knowledge, skills and dispositions so as to better serve the language learners they teach. The framework departs from more classical approaches to initial teacher education and provides a reconceptualization of the roles of aspiring teachers, teachers of teachers as well as the whole field.
